Ministries

We started our OCC ministry in 2008. We have packed and collected thousands of shoeboxes over the years!  The mission of OCC is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. We partner with Samaritan’s Purse to deliver shoeboxes to children around the world.  Packed shoeboxes are donated during National Collection Week in November.

We partner with local churches for Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.  We enjoy the wonder and the tough questions that kids ask!  Our kids enjoy learning Bible stories though creative ways, including skits / dramas, music, games, science projects, coloring, and crafts. Our Sunday services typically include a Children's Message, which is a short message or object lesson geared specifically for youth.

We seek ways to serve our community, such as monthly donations for our local food shelf, providing meals for community members, contributing to housing for those in need, and partnering with organizations to support community events.  We offer a Lenten Bible study open to everyone. Serving meals is one of our love languages, so you'll find that many of our events include food!

We have a strong core group of women who enjoy fellowship every month.  They take turns hosting and providing programs, and they demonstrate love in action by supporting outreach efforts.  For the past few years, our UWF (formerly UMW) has purchased school supplies for local elementary schools.  They support programs that improve life for women, children and youth, and communities.

UMCOR is the humanitarian arm of the United Methodist Church.  We support UMCOR and its projects worldwide.  100% of each gift goes towards the designated mission.  There are over 15 project areas with active ministries and missions, from church growth to humanitarian relief to education to sustainable development.
